Why We Exist
Employing + Empowering Survivors
After years of mentoring women coming out of trafficking, violence, and addiction, our founder noticed a gap in care around reintegration and employment. Sanctuary Project was birthed out of that need and a desire to give women in transition meaningful and dignified employment, while building a community of support to help them launch into their new lives, avoid recidivism, and recover from the traumas that trafficking, violence, and addiction left in their lives.
Founder + CEO
Holly Christine Hayes was rescued out of a life of trafficking, violence and addiction more than twenty years ago and knows the path to recovery can be long and rocky. Her vision and leadership create a safe space for other survivors to grow, unleash their creativity, embrace their femininity, and heal - all in community with other survivors. Holly is an award winning author of From Basement to Sanctuary and speaks all over the world about the unexpected gift of a life of trauma and how surrender can bring us closer to God. Holly’s mission is to bring healing and restoration and to help women everywhere to become the beautiful, inspiring individuals they were each created to be.
Our Survivor - Leader Team is made up of women who have found victory over trafficking, violence, and addiction in their own lives, and are at least 2 years into the healing and recovery process. Not only are they all uniquely talented and dedicated to their work, but the experience they bring, the hope and example of recovery they provide, is a vital part of what makes the community at Sanctuary Project so special.
